LIC’s L Haus is sold out
25 Feb
Well, if you wanted to secure an apartment at the L Haus, you’re out of luck. After increasing the price per square footage by 30 percent, Modern Spaces was able to sell out the L Haus apartments in 12 months!
Just a sign of how real estate has and continues to sky rocket in Long Island City.
more here.

How could it be sold out when the outside isn’t even finished yet? When are they going to cover the insulation already?
Good for the economy, but aesthetically speaking this building is a bit of an eyesore. And being right on top of the Pulaski bridge is a big drawback for those units facing it. Hopefully they paid a fair price based on the pro/cons.
I can speak about this with some authority as I am a resident of the building in a unit that faces the bridge. The windows are triple-pane, so I don’t ever hear anything. The DOT also just paved the one section of the bridge that did contribute some noise.
Jim,
The only thing you probably benefit from living IN the L Haus is that you don’t have to LOOK at it! Lucky YOU!
The units facing the Pulaski are the same units facing the city skyline which, in my opinion, is one of the major benefits of living in LIC. Over several years I’ve seen that view literally 10′s of thousands of times. It’s breathtaking every time.
Besides, when you’re that close to the bridge, you look right over it. You’d have to look down to see it.
The real downside is trying to cross the street from Hunter’s View to L Haus, where cars speed off the bridge. There are handicap ramps at both corners, but no crosswalk. Never understood why.
I don’t live in the L Haus, btw. I live next door. I don’t really mind the building. I think it looks fine. That rusty one down Jackson is the worst in the neighborhood.
love it. great news for all.
It’s a really ugly building. Too bad we are the ones that have to look at it. Looks like Tyvek on the outside.
Everyone is quick to point out its an ugly building, but the fact is all new building in LIC and NYC are god awful ugly. They all look like like giant washing machines designed by hack architect to make buildings maximize price per square foot (square shape) and made with shoddy construction to maximize profit. Don’t like the look of the LHaus? Get over it, welcome to the 21st century. Move on.
Prices in LIC are really higher than I ever thought they’d go after the ‘Great Recession.’
And not much on the market, so they’ll go way higher.
Let’s hope some of the buildings in the LIC pipeline go condo/co-op in the near future.
Owners are better than renters for the long term well-being of the neighborhood.
it’s really that puke green that hurts! oh the humanity! other than that, the building itself is on par with other LIC/NYC newish buildings.
