The M train is running in LIC? [update: not in LIC]

2 Nov

We’ve just gotten word that the M train will be running on Friday for commuters into and out of Long Island City. Trains will operate between Myrtle Avenue-Broadway and Metropolitan Avenue and make local stops between Jamaica Center and 34th St/Herald Sq (via 63 St).

This is a sigh of relief for those who live in Hunters Point and needed to trek all the way to the N line. They’ll now be able to take the M from Ely Ave. located on 21st Street and 44th Dr.

No word on the 7 or E line (though the 7 trains will operate in Queens between Main St—74 St and Broadway, making local stops).

Update: Readers are finding that the M is not stopping at Court Square. You still need to head to Queensbridge.

I think this is incorrect. M will operate on F line.

We took M train from 74/Roosevelt at 7:00PM. It ran local to 21 Street Queensbridge, then thru 63 Street tunnel

M train IS not serving Court Square. M is being routed on F train via 63 st tunnel. Closest stop will be 21 st queens bridge.
