The lobby at the Powerhouse Yard

 

The Powerhouse and the Powerhouse Yard were some of the hardest hit residential buildings in Long Island City. LIC Spot was given exclusive access to some of the devastation.  The building has been mostly evacuated and will take quite some time to re-build.

The garage was completely flooded.

A refrigerator floated in the hallway and stayed stuck between walls.

    When are we getting power back? We hear from powerhouse maybe once every 36 hours, no one answers at elliman. Not acceptable

    Not mostly evacuated. Camping out with hot water and gas.
    But being the only ones in the hood without power sucks…
    Restoration only by Nov 9….sucks even more

    How are The Yard lobby lights on? Back up generator? Does that mean electricity is on? I also agree that the management company should be more proactive with building updates. We have not heard anything.

    One of 4 legs is working this is why stairways and lobby has light (at least) and I guess we have hot water.

    I can’t believe Con Ed has only focused on Manhattan! And so grateful for this sight to give me more updates than I can get elsewhere.
