LIC Market’s Donation Drive

In an effort to help NYC neighborhoods in greatest need, LIC Market has launched a donation drive. Anything you can offer is appreciated. Shelters are most in need of the following: water, clothing (especially socks, underwear and sweats), shoes, non-perishable food, baby food and baby supplies, toiletries, cleaning supplies, batteries/flashlights and lanterns, demolition tools (pry bars, sledge hammers, garbage bags), tarps, daily newspapers, batteries (A, AAA, D).

    LIC Market would like to thank everyone that has been dropping off donations! You
    guys are AMAZING! A volunteer from Jimmy Van Bramer’s office already collected a
    full carload and drove it directly out to the Rockaways. Keep those donations
    coming! We will be open until 3:30 both Saturday & Sunday.

    Does everything have to be new or can they be used but cleaned (other than underwear or food of course)?

    Also, I don’t mean to sound selfish, but would I get a charitable donation deduction for this?
