Subway closing tonight for Sandy!
28 Oct
The MTA has just announced that they will be suspending all subway service starting at 7pm tonight as Hurricane Sandy passes through. Yeah, the jokes on them as the 7 train is already closed throughout the weekend…but this is certainly going to shut everything down in Long Island City for the coming days.
Bus service will stop at 9pm and the last commuter train will leave Manhattan around 7pm as well.
So far Mayor Bloomberg has not advised any residents in any flood zone to evacuate. This is to be a massive storm.
The Associated Press has posted 5 reasons why this is a superstorm.

The 7 train is actually running today (well, until 7PM). In advance of Sandy, they changed the all-weekend 7/J construction into Saturday-only construction…
