Tree-huggers abound in LIC!

The City of NY Parks and Recreation paid a visit to Long Island City today to raise tree awareness, or as they said, promote a little “Tree-L-C”. They asked neighbors to help water their local trees and even adopt a tree. This is all part of the city’s Million Trees NYC initiative.

Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer was on hand to help water some trees and mentioned that $4 million was allocated to parks in his district alone. Children also helped water the tree (in front of Communitea).

Dogs, on the other hand, were asked to not participate!
