Tree-huggers abound in LIC!
10 Jul
The City of NY Parks and Recreation paid a visit to Long Island City today to raise tree awareness, or as they said, promote a little “Tree-L-C”. They asked neighbors to help water their local trees and even adopt a tree. This is all part of the city’s Million Trees NYC initiative.
Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer was on hand to help water some trees and mentioned that $4 million was allocated to parks in his district alone. Children also helped water the tree (in front of Communitea).
Dogs, on the other hand, were asked to not participate!

We need more trees that bear fruits! PLEASE Councilman! More fig trees!
Just any tree will be good all over the LIC! Please plant more!!
We love it and our LIC neighborhood! Thanks for including our kids from Lolly’s!
How a about some trees at the dog park?
