Long Island City condo is rusting

Go ahead and take a walk on Jackson Avenue near 47th Ave and you’ll see an orange building. It’s more like an orange-rust building actually. In fact, according to the Queens Crapper (yeah, it’s a real blog) the East of East condo building is being purposely rusted for a particular look. We think that’s pretty cool, but apparently tenants are noticing that the runoff is staining surrounding material. Oops!

This is a weird building. It was empty for a long time. I assumed that they ran out of money and halted construction, but now I see that several people have moved in. (Seeing lights on at night and some furniture making appearances on the balconies).

Frankly, it looks like it’s still under construction. That block wall in front… the trash all around the side of the building. It’s a mess. I wouldn’t live there.

I don’t mind the rust, but those black boxes were clearly meant for windows that, I guess, they couldn’t afford.

Something to be said about the whole rust thing. But then again, why rust? Especially if it’s leaking everywhere. Why not just dog shit? It might as well be!
