Need some curry in your life? A new Indian restaurant called Aanchal has opened up in LIC on 23rd St. and 45th Ave. under the 7 tracks. You may not have noticed because the MTA has been blocking their signage with their construction equipment (surprised?).
We’ve been getting a few emails from followers saying that their food is actually pretty good and beats 5 Star Diner’s curry. We’ll let you know once we order the tikki masala.
Live down the street and can confirm food is very good, friendly staff, and they deliver. Great addition to the neighborhood
I have eaten here a few times. I’m big foodie and spent time in India. The food rocks. Let them know if you want the real thing or the Americanized version. They will accommodate your taste and make you happy. The owner Paul is super nice and is usually on site. He owns all the Toast deli’s and loves LIC. Thanks for bringing us a rocking Indian place to LIC. It’s spotless unlike the 5 Star dinner.
Gotta try it. It seems like a wave of new restaurants is coming our way (Spice, John Brown, M. Wells, Cyclo). Am I missing any other? I see work going on next to Ihawan, but not sure what it is.
